The Mosaic is done! Massive thanks to everyone that sent in their video!! I made our video into a standalone track, scroll down the page for that version.
I chose The Female Sailor. Some background (if you don't know the tune). It's one of the grooviest tunes I know! I wanted to choose something iconically Playford-style. This is actually to be found in Feuillet 1706 called La Matelote. In 1710 this book was translated into English and it becomes The Female Saylor.
I chose it because it is a 32 bar jig and as such I'd like to blur the lines a little. Iconic Playford Style that we can contra-up. So the guide starts with Four-potatoes.
So - if you're new to mosaic making there is a video guide that talks you through it below. In summary. Film yourself playing the tune. Listen to the guide video on headphones while you're doing this. (Headphones is crucial) We are playing to a click at 120 bpm - there are two guides below one with a click and one without. We play it three times. You can send me more than one video with different instruments. You can send me audio separately - but keep the audio in the video as I'll need that to align you up! It also helps if you say a couple of the count in numbers with me before you start playing.
Then send me the file using your file transfer method of choice. Something like Wetransfer, or Smash. There is a video below to show how to use Wetransfer.
If you want to see one I made earlier - visit this page. I'm in the middle of editing this year's video. (I'll change this link when it's published sometime this week)
